September 9, 2006 - Patricia Conroy is Canadian Country's top "Independent Female Artist of the Year"

For the third time in her career, Patricia Conroy has been honored as the CCMA's top "Independent Female Artist of the Year". The award was handed out last night at the CCMA President's Gala in St. John, NB.

Conroy is also nominated for the coveted "Female Artist of the Year" award, to be presented on tonight's televised Canadian Country Music Awards show. Conroy will also be presenting the trophy for "Chevy Trucks Rising Star".

The 2006 CCMA Awards will take place Monday, September 11 at Harbour Station in Saint John, NB and will be televised across Canada on September 11 at 8 PM (8:30NT) on CBC TV with encore airings on CMT, in the U.S. on Great American Country (GAC) and in Australia on Country Music Channel (CMC).
