While Patricia Conroy may be taking a short break after a hectic tour schedule in early spring, she is certainly not at a loss for things to do. She has been busy songwriting as well as putting the finishing touches on her new CD, "Talking to Myself". Her first new project since her Greatest Hits release, the experience of putting this CD together has been unique for Patricia. Although she has been very involved in her last 2 projects, this is the first time she has been so involved in the writing of the songs.

"I've always been a songwriter," Patricia noted, "but this is the first time I've either written or co-written every single track on my CD!"

She has been writing so much over the last while that many songs didn't make it on the CD.

"Some of the songs I've written have such a different flavor that they just didn't fit with this project," she added, "There were many others that did fit, but we had to cut it down to just 11 tracks. That was a hard process but I am pleased with how it turned out."

That's not to say that fans of Conroy's songs won't get to hear them all. Many tracks have been cut, or are being cut, by other country artists. Lisa Brokop and Michelle Wright both have tracks of Patricia's on their latest projects, and a couple more made it on 306 label mate Brad Johner's first solo release, "Free". Brothers Curtis and Marty Grambo recently cut Patricia's "I Liked You Better (When you were Drinking)" for an upcoming release, and newcomer Michael James' latest single "Everything or Nothing" (currently climbing the charts) has Patricia's songwriting credits on it.

While having had a hand in writing all the songs on her new CD may be a new experience, listeners will be pleased to find the same down-to-earth songs that have garnered Patricia such a large and loyal fan base.
